This tour will „fast-track“ you past Munich’s highlights – the St. Mary’s Square (Marienplatz) with the Old and New Town Halls, Munich’s landmark: the Church of our Lady (Frauenkirche), the Victuals Market (Viktualienmarkt), the Church of St. Peter (Alten Peter), the Residence, the Bavarian State Opera, the Old Court (Alte Hof), Odeon’s Square (Odeonsplatz) with the Theatiner Church (Theatinerkirche), the English Garden with the Chinese Tower (Chinesischer Turm), the Ludwigstrasse, the Maximilianstrasse, the Victory Gate (Siegestor), the Asam Church (Asamkirche) as well as the St. Michael’s Church (Michaelskirche; the largest Renaissance church north of the alps), the Hofbräuhaus, the German Museum, the Isar Gate (Isartor), the Angel of Peace (Friedensengel), the Eisbach (a stretch of the river Isar known for surfing) and much more.
Please don’t be scared! We admit that the programme includes a huge load of history, architecture and impressions. To make sure the joy of running isn’t left behind we take a few detours into calmer areas like the Court Garden (Hofgarten), Maximilian’s parks and the old Southern Cemetery (Südfriedhof).
It’s best to run this tour in the morning or at lunchtime, as it is right in the city centre and might get really busy in the afternoon – it’s not suitable for Advent Saturdays either!
